ROB D’PRINCE

“I am a voice of the people.”

Austin, Texas born and Tampa, Florida raised, Rob D'Prince is an independent artist who has always had a passion for music in his life. Despite this, he did not start pursuing music until he joined the middle school band, where he learned percussion. Throughout middle and high school, Rob D'Prince further established his mastery of rhythmic performance and production. After high school, he went on to march with an independent percussion ensemble, where he dabbled a bit into hip-hop production and began producing music in 2018. Over the next year, he spent a lot of time trying to discover a unique sound. Inspired by artists such as Madlib, MF DOOM, and Royce Da 5'9, Rob D'Prince tried recreating the old school sound using Ableton Live and produced GLOWUP as his first independently produced track under the moniker "DEMON PRINCE ROB." After this track and a few others, he decided to take some time to find himself after going through hard times emotionally and financially. In the time between 2019 and 2022, Rob D'Prince moved to Texas and left behind the sounds and messages that he once expressed. He detached himself from his DAW and transitioned into an old-school setup. With his Portastudio 488, SP-303, MPC 2000XL, and SL-1200, he began producing beats more akin to his idols. Hundreds of beats later, Rob D'Prince has begun working on a new album with a uniquely old-school sound that attracts both old heads and new kids alike.
